Eligibility Criteria for University of Calgary Scholarships for International Students 2024–25

To be eligible for the University of Calgary Scholarship, candidates must meet all of the conditions listed below.

Energizing Canada International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Annually awarded to an international student beginning their first year of an undergraduate degree program at the University of Calgary. Renewable in the second, third, and fourth years of study at the University of Calgary if recipients achieve a minimum GPA of 3.00 over a minimum of 24.00 units in the prior fall and winter terms.
  • Academic merit
  • Financial need
  • Must have graduated from a Chinese high school, including Hong Kong and Macau.
  • Preference will be given to a student pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Health Sciences, or Bachelor of Arts—Urban Studies degree.

University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship:

  • Annually offered to undergraduate international students entering their first year of any undergraduate degree in the next fall term who have met the university’s English Language Proficiency criterion. Renewable in the second, third, and fourth years of study at the University of Calgary if recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or above over a minimum of 24.00 units in the prior fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student.
  • International students who are not Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada and are required to pay a difference fee

How do I apply for University of Calgary scholarships for international students?

To apply for this scholarship, please follow the steps outlined below:

(1) Apply for your undergraduate program at the university:

  • You may now begin your application. Create a U-Calgary eID first.
  • Use the application guide to help you with your application processes.
  • Submit your application and pay the application fee of $145.
  • We’ll notify you in your Calgary Student Center about how and where to submit any required documentation based on your application. Additional information can be found on the document page.

(2) To apply for the scholarship. Follow the next steps:

  1. Navigate to your Student Center using the My U of C portal.
  2. Navigate to your Student Center’s “My Financials” page.
  3. Login to the “My Financials” page in your Student Center. Navigate to the Awards & Scholarships area and select “Apply for Undergraduate Awards.” Please make sure that pop-ups are enabled. The page will not load if pop-ups are disabled.
  4. A pop-up window will open on your screen with any open applications or ones that have recently closed. Please pay attention to the application availability and application deadline dates.
