Call for applications for the Danish Government Masters Scholarship for International Students 2024. The University of Southern Denmark, in partnership with the Danish Government, is pleased to provide scholarships to deserving overseas candidates. These scholarships demonstrate the considerable commitment that international students are putting into their studies. The Danish Government Scholarship Program strives to assist a small number of highly qualified applicants, recognizing and honoring overseas students’ significant efforts in their scholastic aspirations.
The University of Southern Denmark’s academic adventure began in September 1966, when the first students arrived on campus in Odense. Since then, the university has seen amazing expansion and progress. It now has five faculties and serves approximately 27,000 students; over 20% of them are from international backgrounds. In addition to its main campus in Odense, the university has regional campuses in Slagelse, Kolding, Esbjerg, and Sønderborg. Benefits
The Danish Government Masters Scholarship for International Students 2024 consists of two parts: a full tuition price remission and a stipend to help pay living costs of DKK 3000 per month before taxes.

Criteria for the Danish Government Masters Scholarship
To apply for the scholarship, non-EU/EEA citizens must enroll in one of the Master’s programs mentioned below at Sønderborg.
Please take note:
- Regardless of whether you have Danish resident status, you must submit your application for admission by February 1.
- Your application must include all essential documents at the time of submission (i.e., SDU should not need to ask for more evidence).
Selection Process
You will be contacted for an interview.
The scholarships are offered to the most eligible candidates based on their bachelor’s degree grade point average and an online interview with key members of the master’s course.
Once we have processed your application for admission, we will send you an email inviting you to the interview. If you apply to more than one program, the interview will be given to the one with the greatest priority.
Interviews will take place between February 16 and 28, so make sure to check your email frequently throughout February. There is no need for you to prepare specifically for the interview.
Application Documents
Your application must contain:
- Application deposit fee receipt.
- Official bachelor’s transcripts and diplomas in English, Danish, Swedish, or Norwegian must include grades and ECTS/units/credits for each course.
- Course descriptions for the courses shown on your transcripts.
- Proof of English language competency.

Method of Application
To be eligible for the Danish Government Masters Scholarship for International Students 2024, simply apply for admission to one or more of the required master’s courses.
No additional scholarship application is required.
