Berea Collage Scholarship For International Students-2024 is currently ongoing. The institution was founded in 1855. It is an integrated coeducational liberal arts college with the motto, ”God has made of one blood all peoples of the faith” which reflects the founder’s core beliefs and objectives as an ardent abolitionist. The foundation of Berea College is rooted in Christian faith, according to its founder, John G. Fee. The institution welcomes students of all faiths and believes in a diverse campus setting.

About the award:  Berea College’s international student program is a tuition-free program. All successful students upon admission receive the No-Tuition Promise, which covers 100% of tuition costs. Berea College is unarguably the only institution in the United States that offers 100% funding to all her enlisted international students for the first year of admission upon enrollment.

The financial aid and scholarship program at Berea College offsets the costs of tuition, room, board, and fees.

Eligibility:

Berea College welcomes applications from students who:

• Are able to present an outstanding and/or A exam result.
• do not yet have a 4-year college degree
• meet university entrance requirements in their own country as required
• are able to present IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, or ACT results
• are fluent in the English language, both oral and written;

Selection criteria for the Berea College Scholarship for International Students 2024:

• Berea College international enrollment is limited to about 25 new students each fall, Berea College nevertheless seeks to serve students from as many different areas of the world as possible
• Successful candidates for admission to Berea College must have a record of outstanding academic achievement and a strong sense of educational purpose.
• Berea College does not teach the English language to those who have yet to master the language.
• All international students must have mastered the English language sufficiently to understand and participate in class lectures, discussions, and debate, read required texts and other materials, and complete written and other assignments. However, all successful international students will be assessed to determine whether they would benefit from an English as a Second Language (ESL) course in the first semester. Also, an additional ESL course may also be required in the second semester for some students. The nursing program has a higher English proficiency requirement standard (TOEFL iBT 83, with a 26 on the spoken section). If admitted to Berea College with lower English proficiency, students will not be admitted to the major until the required scores and grades are achieved. Opportunities will be given to students to retest; however, students failing to meet the TOEFL iBT requirement by the first day of their third term of enrollment at Berea are ineligible to pursue the nursing major. Upon admission If to Berea College with lower English proficiency, they will not be admitted to the major until the required scores are achieved where necessary.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

All admitted international students at Berea College receive financial aid and scholarships that cover 100% of tuition, room, board, and fees for the first year of enrollment. However, in subsequent years, international students are expected to save US$1,000 per year to contribute towards their expenses.  Summer jobs are provided by the college to international students so that they may meet this obligation.

All accepted international students are also expected to pay a $2,200 (US) deposit to confirm their enrollment. However, this deposit can be used by international students for certain expenses during their four years of enrollment. For students who are unable to pay all or a part of the deposit, additional financial aid is available.

Berea College Application Instructions:

Applications must be fully submitted no later than January 15. The early application deadline is October 15.  Each academic year begins the following August.
